Unsettling is a project of the NYCity News Service at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. Maria Arcel reported from Lesbos, Greece; Kanyakrit Vongkiatkajorn and Marguerite Ward from Hamtramck, Mich; Isabel Riofrío from Elizabeth and Paterson, NJ; Christina Nordvang Jensen from El Cajon, Calif. The reporters also did extensive work in New York.

Maria Arcel (@MariaArcel) is a freelance journalist and a master’s candidate at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. She has reported for the Danish Broadcasting Coporation, DR, the largest TV and radio station in Denmark.

Christina Nordvang Jensen (@CNordvang) is a freelance journalist and master’s candidate at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. She has reported for the Danish national newspaper Berlingske.

Isabel Riofrío (@imriofrio) is a freelance multimedia journalist based in Ecuador. Her work has appeared in LatinoUSA for NPR, City Limits, Voices of NY and Diario El Comercio, a prominent newspaper in Ecuador. She is a master’s candidate at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, with a focus on international reporting.

Kanyakrit Vongkiatkajorn (@yukvon) is a freelance multimedia journalist based in New York. Her work has appeared in VICE News, The Guardian, The Bangkok Post and local news sites Voices of NY and DNAinfo. She is a master’s candidate at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, where she has a focus in international reporting.
